Made pecan crusted salmon.
Son made a steak pie.
Usually made with ale, but we have dozens of bottles of wine in storage.
So, he's using up the wine.
Can't tell any difference in taste.
Costco will have winter veggies back in stock soon.
Yum!

I come from a long line of Louisiana farmers.
Mine is the 1st generation that literally wasn't born on the farm.
Papa was an agricultural economist.
Spent his career devising best practices for farmers to profit.

Not only is it going to be a hunger crisis, it's going to be a farm crisis. All those gallons of milk bought from dairy farmers, all the produce, all the on sale ground beef and packs of chicken that are paid for by SNAP are subsidies to farmers who don't qualify for commodities subsidies.

Over 1,600 US measles cases last week, highest count in over 30 years.
There are three active outbreaks: Utah/Arizona, South Carolina, and Minnesota.
All are among communities with low vaccination levels.
Measles left my maternal grandmother blind in one eye.

Both grandchildren arrived...with much dirty laundry.
Both did their own laundry.
Grandson had an early basketball tournament today.
Frank got up at 6AM to make breakfast for him.

It's not that I object to a ballroom.
Once attended a ball at the Vienna Rathaus.
It's that he didn't appear to get proper vetting and permits.

Got all my documents lined up for a 20 minute Zoom.
Applicant before us took 45 minutes...mostly arguing with the board.
Left us with only 10 minutes.
No time to complain about our design.
They said liked it.
Just need to get them the window schedule...which was in the handout.

Many years ago...
Before there was a Rose Garden; I sold a lot of cans of peanuts to earn a School Safety Patrol trip to Washington, DC.
Visited the White House and Mount Vernon among other historic sites.
It's going to be a long three+ years.

Got hearing notice to determine if our house fits the historical neighborhood.
Took years of redesign and haggling with folks who couldn't even read blueprints just to get to a hearing.
Too bad we don't have a DC commission to prevent demolition of historical buildings.

Frank's class gave him a restaurant gift card.
So, we decided to have our usual Sunday dinner there.
Menfolk enjoyed the prime rib which I don't like.
Waiter said the fish and chips were good.
He was wrong.
Reminded me of a lunch I once had in Spain.
