The demons are on show at the Department of Labor
These posters are the scariest thing I've seen in a while.

@polygon.com I know you're going through some changes recently but really what on earth is this banner ad

This weekend I got an inexplicable urge to redo my personal website. Maybe it's all this recent talk of small web.

Anyway in lieu of a total revamp, I changed up the serif font, from round Jost to old friend Oswald. And fixed a bunch of broken links. Fight that bitrot, friends!

Hot take but hard to disagree.

My prediction is in ten years social networks will be exclusively short form video. Hell probably even internal work messages
There isn’t a text based internet social media site that’s actually growing, it’s a dead medium that’s only used by elder millennials, media and bad faith actors
I really don't like the wagon-ciricling response that happens when people point out that Bluesky feels smaller and smaller every day. I can feel it, and I know you can feel it too. You should want this place to grow because it's better than the other options.

~new map~

In a tribute to the springtime bloom, I painted a dataviz of where the blossoms are in DC! Full process from inspirations, to realizing you have to re-paint the whole thing at twice the size, to DIY photo sessions – all detailed in this blog post.

Removed Threads from phone today. Every time I open it, it’s just endless engagement bait. Getting served a cryptic rumour-mongering post from *Scaramucci* was the final straw for me.

Sincere question: why is it so hard to integrate typescript/intellisense autocomplete into copilot/cursor suggestions? The two valid options for this prop are RIGHT THERE and yet the LLM still suggests a third made-up option.

This format is so simple yet powerful. And the mobile experience is fantastic — really shows off how to use CSS scroll snap points (or at least I assume that’s what’s being used here)

Really exciting to get this new chart type into people's hands!
🎉🎉 🎉 You can now create small multiple column charts in Datawrapper – for both time series and categorical data! Highlight individual columns, display values on all of them, add annotations, overlays, range highlights, and more: https://blog.datawrapper.de/small-multiple-column-charts/

TIL the term “tab developers” — devs who keep hitting the tab key to let an AI tool autocomplete their code. Derogatory I assume!

Very weird. The AI disclaimer is so subtle one could overlook it. What’s the point of a verified badge again?
