The new series of The Assembly dropped on ITVX at the weekend, starring David Tennant and Danny Dyer.

Here’s an article I wrote last year about the show’s format and portrayals of autism on screen.

Telly is weird. As an autistic person, I’ve never felt wholesome
The microphone is passed to a young man sat along the row. He laughs a little, avoiding all eye contact, and suddenly struggles to speak…

Did a thing that I haven't done in months, which is get up in the middle of the night to write.

The discipline is another thing, but when you feel it inside you it's like leaping and running along for miles. I feel like l've been somewhere, by the end of it.

Sorry, lads…but am I in the wrong century?

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
