Still regardless, their careers played out as they have and both are extremely impressive in their own right.

I just believe LeBron’s impact on the game and culture is at least on par with Michael Jordan’s. Along with more Finals appearances and most points all time puts him slightly over MJ.

I’m sure Jordan’s father being murdered had a huge impact on him. Basically looks like he took at least 8-9 months to be away. Plus baseball was probably his way of dealing with it too.You make a good point!

It is interesting to think how Jordan’s career would’ve gone if his dad wasn’t killed.

Impressive that Jordan out-scored LeBron in the same amount of seasons!

Perhaps he should’ve played longer. Feels like that’s on him and his own ability to play so many seasons.

Maybe it would be different if Jordan was on one of these modern NBA diets, but he wasn’t that kind of dude anyways.

I would be willing to say it’s apples and oranges if it was an injury or disease that kept Jordan from playing again. But it was his own decision.

I also don’t think his father passing holds much weight. Players experience death with their parents all the time and don’t up and retire.
