I've been considering committing to cleaning up my language in the new year. I have no idea if I could actually do it. I say so many bad words, it's like a verbal tic.

WAIT A SECOND, I AM A GENIUS! I just needed to find a piece of metal of the correct size to stick into the hinge. Then the spring tension holds that chunk of metal firmly in place. I'll have to find something longer term, but for now, a socket (from a socket set) let me find the perfect size.
my monitor was too heavy for my existing arm, so i got a new heavy-duty one. but i missed that it has a **minimum** weight requirement. so i can't untension the spring enough to tilt the monitor down. it's now tilted 20° up into the air, and i can't tilt it down :(

I know so many people now with severe GI issues, autoimmune disorders, MCAS-like things. It's gotten bizarrely common lately. I figure it's a manifestation of Long COVID. Can't believe we just let that happen like it doesn't matter.

so surprised at how the Rubik as a UI font is growing on me. I changed GNOME to use it, and it's been bizarrely soothing.
(I find GNOME in general soothing these days. it's so simple, I don't feel like the computer is trying to outsmart me or market to me. I feel like I understand it.)

okay actually I wrote a script that looks for the most overlapping portmanteaux possible. I have found things like abjurationalization, elephantasmagoria, disrespectacular, bartenderhearted, blowtorchestra, raviolinist, chinawareness, and...thousands of others.

Just to have it on record, we had already been working on a 3D Metroidvania where you can use a motorcycle to travel quickly from one biome to another for… 3 or 4 years at this point? haha
(Hopefully we won't take as long as that other 3D Metroidvania with a bike... which I can't wait to play!)
