Becoming really good at editing knitting patterns is the best thing that could have happened to me. My job is so unbelievably intellectually unengaging and that was a big adjustment after a decade of grad school. I love actually using my brain again.

Obviously the larger issue is people not using headphones in public but TikTok is truly an abomination of a sensory experience. The experience of someone flicking between different video sounds makes me feel like I’m having a seizure in a bad movie.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
