Why is Kid Rock doing the Trump halftime show?

“Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see.
Some say that’s statutory
But I say it’s mandatory”

Oh. That’s why.

While I’m certainly not comprehensively read in the psychological encyclopedia, I had never learned anything about Karen Horney (horn-eye) until recently, which is a shame because she was brilliant.

people often say not to let partisan politics ruin relationships. And I agree. But MAGA isn't a partisan political thing. Those people I had relationships with who have gone over to MAGA have fundamentally different morals, values, ethics, and understanding of human rights than I do.

A few households in our community are moving abroad to leave the current regime. I don't blame them a bit, and it brings more grief that my previous attempts to move overseas have all been thwarted.

my son has been watching science education videos and we had a nice discussion about climate change on the way to school in such a way that we don't panic about it, but we take it seriously and work hard--together--to make things better.

STORM ALERT: This is my watercolor print We Grew Through Storms. I love watching storms, but I don't love being in the middle of them. Like many of us are right now. We can never predict how we are going to fare. But looking back we can say we've grown. So my hope is we will become better.

"No room at the inn tells us that this Christ is going to be the one for all for whom there is no room".
If you enjoy my #LectionaryPrayers- a bonus #Christmas sermon! Ideas for Christmas preachers, and an insight for anyone who wonders why Christians bother with those odd Christmas stories!
No room at the inn- a sermon for a Christmas Eve Watchnight service
This is a sermon I preached on Christmas Eve 2022- the last Watchnight sermon I preached before Long Covid forced my retirement. It would need a little updating to use today, yet I think it still holds up in 2025. It reflects my conviction that the incarnation is not a fairy story for children, but the ground of Christian hope in a God of love who acts for justice their world.

A few years ago I almost moved to Europe. The fact that I didn’t was a great disappointment to me. And now the fact that we are governed by a moronic malignant narcissist has made it exponentially worse.

Over on threads there’s someone with a bachelor’s degree who had taken at least a class or two in psychology trying to argue with me to make a point. And he gives the evidence of a Wikipedia article.
