Tbc, I'm blocking all fake leftists who refuse to grapple with our country's well established racism & misogyny & hide behind "economic anxiety," which it was never about, not in the 1930s, 2016, or 2024, & I'm not putting up with anyone who pretends otherwise. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

I've been busy and didn't know Trump was giving a primetime address, and it seems Trump didn't know either because what even is this stuff? Standard lies and the absence of real policy to help anyone, same stuff he says by the chopper before going golfing.
Trump claims he's brought down soaring prices, announces military bonuses in year-end address

Last night, Democrat Gary Clemons won the special election for Kentucky Senate District 37 by a 47 point margin. Democrats have now won or overperformed in 227 of 255 key elections this year - nearly 90%.

Democratic enthusiasm wins elections, especially when Republican failures make it so easy.

We knew this already, but shocking to hear a prosecutor say it out loud.
BREAKING on MS NOW:

Jack Smith, in his opening statement to House Judiciary, says:

"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power."

I have long thought that if Dems stood up unapologetically & unequivocally for love, they would at least get some credit for principle, even if people disagree. At least they would appear to be people who know what they believe. This sweaty, weak split-the-baby shit pleases no one, impresses no one.

RWers understand that if you establish trans kids are a Threat, an Other, then people are going to want to chase them out of other public spaces too & eventually hound the to death. (See: all of history.)

The same is true on the flip side, which is to say ...

Weasely Dems think you can split the baby on this -- oh, just a little discrimination at the high school sports level, but not elsewhere! We defend trans kids here, or here, but not here.

RWers understand the dynamic better. If you open the door to hate, it doesn't stop in the first antechamber!

They developed the "high school girl's sports" angle as a wedge issue, to lever their way up to full society-wide discrimination. What's endlessly stunning to me is how many purported liberals a) helped them when it started & b) are still helping them even after the larger purpose has become clear!

Once you see it it becomes impossible not to notice the media consent-manufacutring machine that responds to literally every social crisis with the diagnosis that "women too free."
My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it

And my second caveat in response to a lot of responses—this isn’t an argument that men being lonely isn’t happening. This is an argument that loneliness is not exclusive to men and that the reigning discourse around MALE loneliness is really about unmet expectations for women

With regards to less sex and actual loneliness, women are experiencing these things, too. Women may be more likely to have friends than men, but women are still getting lonelier. Women struggle with dating. The newer male struggle is expecting but not having someone to do your laundry for you
