Many history books overlook Sybil Ludington. She drove her horse on the same night as Paul Revere through the cold rain to rally the troops.

Sybil rode nearly 40 miles which was twice the distance of Paul Revere’s famous ride. The British were near. She let the troops know as did Paul Revere.
