My brain wayyyy misread that and for a minute I thought it said all you wanted was a Coke Zero. And tbh, same.

They joined Bluesky because they can’t live without your attention. They don’t want to govern, they don’t even really want to “win” in a conventional sense, they just want to play online all day owning libs and it drives them crazy when they lose access to your one wild and precious life.
I think every horse I’ve ever ridden over a fence has been massively underwhelmed. I’d be happy with simply whelmed, these days!
I want to hug a raccoon so badly. Unfortunately I’m a little too attached to my face to attempt it.
I’m really looking forward to this; I’m enjoying McGill & Wright’s translation, and they’re both at Rice! Love to see Houston represented here.

seeing a lot of hubris these days and not a lot of greek mythology type consequences
Pulling books off the shelf for research and was delighted to see I’d stuck my favorite bookplate in @emilyrcwilson.bsky.social translation of The Iliad.

When OLED TVs debuted the manufacturers knew they were susceptible to screen burn-in but only if the user has the same image on screen for like 12 hours at a time. Then a lot of older buyers burned the cable news logos into their screens because it's on the entire time they're awake.
I guess on a very basic level we need to tell people over and over that watching cable news is not something a smart person does it’s the opposite of that. You can feel free to watch Top Chef or baseball or Mario 64 speedruns, none of them, genuinely, will make you as ignorant as CNN shouty bullshit
Saving this one for the car ride with the kid this evening, he’s hooked. Also, thanks for the @nikitagill Hekate rec - got it preordered! September is gonna be a busy month for good books!
This was so good! The 12 year old and I listened in the car and he didn’t make a sound the entire time (he was really into it, usually he’s yapping when I try to listen)

Sorry but personally if a miniature horse woke me up from anesthesia by banging out nonsense on a miniature keyboard it would send me into a liminal space between life and death from which I would never return
Preordered a signed UK version (as well as unsigned, ordered previously), and will probably get the US version as well. I will be awash in Medea!
And it takes years for fruit trees to be big enough to have decent yields unless you’re buying wildly expensive mature trees. Anyway my mom grows corn and ants ate most of it. This is a stellar plan that can’t fail in the dumbest ways possible.
If nothing else, 1 acre will not sustain all of this and livestock too.

Damn‼️ Federal agents blew a door off for this?

Federal agents blasted their way into an LA home where Jenny Ramirez lives with her boyfriend and two kids.

She heard the blast while checking on her 6-year-old, with her 1-year-old in her arms.

Ramirez says everyone in the home is a U.S. citizen.

Truly - I always think how crazy it is that the Chicxulub crater has been found and we know exactly where the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs landed.
Working my way through Kerenyi’s Eleusis. Really, really interesting and way less dry than I figured it would be.

*sitting in a government reeducation camp talking about how much this fucking sucks*

some random asshole: and you’re SURPRISED?
Boden kids always has the cutest kids’ clothes 😭 every time they’d have a sale I’d grab stuff for my son. They could scrap the adult stuff altogether and just be a kids’ brand.
