If Geertruida was a summer signing for the next 5-10 years, I’d have a very different take on it, but given the facts of the situation, it’s better than Dom at RB non stop for the next month or two.

Honestly don’t mind the idea of a short term loan deal for Geertruida. The coach knows him & trusts him, which is important given Slot’s way of doing things & he has the versatility to do minutes in three positions, if needed. As emergency loans go, it ticks boxes. Given our situation, it’s logical.

It’s nice to wake up after a 4-1 win in which we played well for the 60 minutes that really mattered. 10 goals in two games & lots of chances, too. Defending, in the main, with the same aggression we showed in attack.
It’s not perfect but it is much better, IMO. Much more Liverpool like.

First 30/35 minutes today was more like an NFL game than a footy match. The whole period was just waiting for Newcastle to restart play with a goal kick, long throw or corner.
Just 12 mins ball in play time in the first 30, 22 in the 1st half and 49 mins overall!!

For me, this has been our best performance of the season. Very easy for heads to drop after going behind, but the players had none of that. It just seemed to galvanise them. Not looked back since, & some players have been outstanding 👏🏻
