Ooh this sounds extremely lovely, thank you for the heads up!!

The message of most reboots is "we did that thing you liked again! It's worse now 😃", but the return of Black Eyes feels different. There's more space, dynamics, longer songs, influences from the members' work of the past 20 years. It's a new chapter in their story, not just what they were again.

IFS continue their collaboration series, joining with AGF for some poetic speech & singing. The footwork-inspired production discombobulates in a way that fits the various sizes of space between words. There's something bizarre in how it feels similtaneously in/organic, it's like stones got anxious.

feeo has something that could be described as ambient pop, but each track brings something a little different to the table. It consistently feels like it is trying to avoid disturbing someone in a half-conscious state, as though that's the best equipped mind to put all this together. Very nice!

This new claire rousay is sold out on cassette, but still available via Bandcamp subscription. Two sidelong pieces collaging material from an extremely talented crew, arranged like a perpetual lap fade on a mobius strip, it has the strange movement and deep feeling that she does so well! Love it.

If you're a fan of electronically manipulated field recordings of ice and water, or if you've somehow left this as an open question in your life, you should check this collaboration from Yoichi Kamimura & Olli Aarni. They each provide a very compelling narrative navigation of this source material!

Snakeskin is the duo of Julia Sabra & Fadi Tabbal. The songs have a dreamy style, but there's little ambiguity in what's being said. There's times where it feels like the ambient hum of reality is amplified and painted somber, like the tears make watercolors. Truly stunning, highly recommended!!

I still need to pick it up myself, very curious about it! I'm behind on this year's Ersts, I wanna save up this month and fill in all the gaps on the next bc friday since they are always the best

Neti-Neti is the duo of Amirtha Kidambi & Matt Evans, they alternate between moderate feedback drones that sit within a feeling, and drum + voice sessions with solid forward momentum, taking the feeling to the next stage. It's not a light listen, but it takes good care of you.

This archival recording from Nijiumu (featuring Keiji Haino & Tetuzi Akiyama) is a slow moving freeform affair, with reverb treated as a primary component. The largeness is an instrument. I'd never thought about what it'd be like if a ghost was giant, but this makes it seem like it would be cool.

It's another great week for new music, and I'll be sharing some thoughts while I listen!

But it sounds like you're saying that all this stuff that DC knew about *before they hired her* means that we should not be on her side for this. You are acting like we should consider her disposable. I do not think that's right.
endaural.com
What is the point here? We should let the mobs with pitchforks tear down trans women when they fall short of some standard? "Have you considered, actually, that she deserved it?", that's your contribution here?

I am beginning to think it is too easy for people to become confident
endaural.com
I was interpreting it the statement as saying "based on staff members direct contact and intervention" rather than "staff being involved in the inciting incident", based on the labeler needing to put out a message that this was not due to staff contact. It was a real belief and it led to harassment
endaural.com
You don't have to go beyond the deleted post to see "why did you delete the proof that you getting rid of the labeler cause of the staff?", and that's the thing I'm talking about. There was no conspiring with the staff on this. It never happened.
endaural.com
The conspiracy talk is at the top of this thread, before the deleted post.

She has the right to conclude that her work was contributing negatively to the atmosphere on this site. It's fair to disagree but she got much more than disagreement in return, and that's bullshit.
endaural.com
I think it's more the accusations of being part of some transphobic conspiracy within the Bluesky corporate entity, and the way it makes people feel justified to bring full aggression, that brought things into harassment territory. It seems like it'd be good to not immediately assume the worst
endaural.com
The challenge for me is that I feel so much of it depends on where someone is currently, like the right playlist for one might completely scare off someone else. I find it easier to do on a site like pubby.club where ppl take turns playing songs, you can see where someone is and nudge em in response
endaural.com
It can be tough to manage for sure. But it might help to say something more publicly that makes your position clear in the way you've clarified it for me, and deleting the post I linked. Because people are reading this & your posts as a defense of calling trans women malebrained
endaural.com
To err is human! I appreciate you clairfying here, because the posting that I had seen made it appear as though you saw nothing wrong with saying something like that. All this online communication stuff gets so muddled, it's rough.
endaural.com
But the linked comment isn't a part of what you're screenshotting, and I think the context that it actually sits in is leading people to conclude that you were saying "this trans woman is being so malebrained rn", which I think is a huge part of why you're seeing the response you're getting.
endaural.com
Thank you so much for sharing this, just had a very nice time listening! Really great stuff, especially loved Cardinal, it's so nice the way the voice is like a stablizing force while the guitar goes off on little walks (but never too far!), looking forward to spending some time with this!!

Maybe I'm mistaken here, I'm talking about this post. Who were you talking about here?

Seriously, the egos of cishet white men the lot of them

And thats, pretty much the worst insult imo
endaural.com
I am engaging purely because I want to know more about your position. I saw the full context, and I think it is inappropriate to say a trans woman is behaving like a cishet man. You say you'd say it about a cis woman too, but that wouldn't be reinforcing societal transphobia. Doesn't that matter?
