#FreeElectricity @OctopusEnergy so looking forward to these! I'm turning on the oven, the iron and the toastie maker to warm the house up. Plus a hot wash of laundry, a hot dishwasher and the dehumidifier.

Well said Goldacre
SUVs increase the odds of killing in a collision. They're high at the front, your children get dragged under then crushed to death. They're also too big for parking spaces. They shld just be treated like vans, subject to lower speed limits, higher parking charges. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

⏰ Time to set those alarm clocks! ⏰

A lunar eclipse will be visible from the UK tomorrow – and no specialist equipment is needed!

The fascinating spectacle will begin shortly before 04:00 GMT but the best time to see it will be around 06:20 GMT, before the Moon sets.

If only booking trains across Europe was as easy as booking a flight. We did London to Verona and back over the summer, I was only stressed out about the journey for the whole ten weeks between booking and traveling. And the whole holiday.
I was annoyed by this Euronews piece about rail ticketing earlier: www.euronews.com/travel/2024/...

Some people asked me why I was annoyed. This 🧵 – a kind of fisking – will explain!
Europe’s on track to deliver single-ticket train travel
The complexity of train travel across Europe’s borders could soon be made easier with plans for a single ticket.
