That's awesome! Now I'm actually kind of curious how deeply into the surface of the platter the data on the drive is stored.

With absolutely no data to back this up, I feel like Barkeeper's Friend would be equally as abrasive but leave way more dust behind.

I am not judging, especially since it actually worked, but what led to you deciding to use magic eraser, other than having nothing really to lose? I've done some wacky things to get hard drives functional enough to recover data, but never thought to use basically high-grit sandpaper! 😅

This was such a fun photo to set up, taken by Thomas Reiter through a sleep station window on Mir. The sun was so bright we were all squinting like crazy. But I love how it shows the texture of the Shuttle's rough, protective hide, and the glimpse of humanity (and my moustache) against the universe.

We took the Malmö to Stockholm train when we visited Stockholm a few months ago, the trip was gorgeous!

I just spent 5 minutes fighting with Apple Music after I accidentally switched to the MiniPlayer and couldn't figure out how to get back.
