I'm too old for this. Much, much too old for this nonsense.

Just heard an AI ethicist talk about how important it is that we say ‘MEN are using Grok to undress images of babies, children and women’ not ‘Grok is….’. Grok isn’t responsible for the action, the men enabling & using it for this repulsive purpose are. Small but important bit of linguistic accuracy

The US operation to capture Nicolás Maduro may well be the moment when Western Europe realizes that the US has decisively abandoned the core values that united them for the past century.
The US capture of President Nicolás Maduro – and attacks on Venezuela – have no justification in international law
This may be the moment when Western Europe realizes that the US has abandoned the core values that united them for the past century, writes the head of Chatham House’s International Law Programme.

I have a hunch that if you or I were running a website doing this the "urgent contact" would involve door rams and handcuffs so I struggle to see why it can't be slightly more pugnacious than this.
Ofcom, which enforces the UK's Online Safety Act, says it is aware of "serious concerns" about Grok undressing people including children on X

“We have made urgent contact with X and xAI to understand what steps they have taken to comply with their legal duties to protect users in the UK," it says

I think the world is in disbelief at the shock and awe speed at which the US is unravelling, the reality of what they have become seems to be too much too quick for leaders to digest and act on. Europe / The west need to discuss the unthinkable of how do we uncouple and protect ourselves from the US

From Washington to Europe, the same organisations keep appearing – Heritage, Heartland, Koch-linked groups – pushing identical anti-net zero scripts & climate change scepticism.

It’s a coordinated, well-funded project of fossil fuel money, think tanks, tech giants & political operatives

For many of those seeking asylum a mobile phone isn't just a lifeline to keep in contact with loved ones, it's an essential resource in accessing information and resources. State mandated theft is another example of Labour's dehumanisation of people seeking safety

Interesting how some countries find no difficulty in saying the things that other countries insist are impossible to say.
Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide: "International law is universal and binding for all states. The American intervention in Venezuela is not in accordance with international law."

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

The argument that it funds conservation is deeply flawed.A 2017 UK parliamentary report found that only 3% of hunting fees typically benefit locals. Sustainable ecotourism (photo safaris, wildlife viewing) generates MORE lasting revenue without killing the attraction.
