Day One —

Nathan, Erathem, and Perihelion arrive on K'aresh, with the broker Ba'karin as their guide. Gravity can get a little strange in places, and Nathan makes the most of it to reach for the stars.

Megaloceros giganteus, also known as the Irish Elk. Standing 7 feet at the shoulder with antlers as wide as 12 feet across, it was one of the largest deer species in existence.

A truly awesome site during the #IceAge.

To celebrate the release of Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, I'm skipping ahead to some photos of Smilodon fatalis for #FossilFriday, left from the Royal Ontario Museum, right from La Brea Tar Pits Museum. These saber-toothed cats were at least as big as lions, but much heavier. #PaleorenjiPhoto (2019)

I am not an anatomy expert and haven't really done this kind of thing before, but... I wanted to try anyway! Gotta start somewhere.

Homotherium painting I did back in June. I never posted it because I wasn't entirely satisfied with it... But now I'm thinking it's alright?

My jaw genuinely dropped when I saw this image. It is literally, 100% my mental image of what Homotherium looked like. Absolutely perfect. 10/10. No notes.

On the Ice Age theme, I love the nonverbal stories told by these NMNH displays.

A woolly mammoth clears snow off the grass with its curved tusks, a family of humans is startled by a stalking saber tooth…
