Sometimes life can be unexpected. I didn’t expect to be on stage at El Cerrito last night singing Beach boys songs with Al Jardine and Weird Al! Great fun though.
Thanks. Neither Al nor I could remember!

We’re living through crazy times - it’s getting to the point where you can’t even go to an Al Jardine show with Eric Idle without being dragged up on stage to sing “Barbara Ann”!

Two Wreck-Gars singing together!
Weird Al and @ericidle.bsky.social , the most ambitious team-up since Avengers Infinity War

Jesus wept.
For example; "But maybe more than two words next time, so it doesn't look dismissive?" can appear insultingly, belittlingly condescending. I'm sure that's not your intention, but it does read like that.

Just something to think about.

Fantastic Ding Dong at Alex Jules last night. We sang till 2. A great crowd joined me, Micky Dolenz’, Emeen, Erik and his daughter Miranda and some really great musicians new to me. Superb players. The Canyon rocked! We played for hours. Yay!

I was in it once. Trinculo. College.
I read Shakespeare's "The Tempest" a lot, because it has always fascinated me.💖

Q: “Was it love at first sight?”
Olivia Harrison: “Pretty much. We felt it in our hearts from before we met. Even on the phone, we seemed to have some understanding, like you do when you meet the right person. And he was a charmer, such a charmer!”

Wait till you have Professor Brian after you. He uses the word problematic… it is an oblated spheroid. But try using that in a song. @professorbriancox.bsky.social
People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.

I hate the way Apple Music just goes ahead and adds songs to your favorite playlists. This drives me nuts. Is there anyway to stop the bastards doing this?

Many. Gatsby for example.
@ericidle.bsky.social HAVE YOU EVER READ A BOOK THAT YOU LIKED TWICE?😊

You've been patient with me (on social media) in the past when I was severely depressed; you are certainly compassionate.💖
November 20, 2025 at 6:48 PM
I tried.
What an absolutely bizarre use of your time and energy. Have you contributed to the sum total of human compassion here, Eric?

Eric. LOTS of folk genuinely appreciate people like you who look out for others.

Don't let one person, make you think otherwise. Please.

Mistakes and misunderstandings happen, but how someone reacts to those mistakes, is usually quite telling.

I know that Denise. I will always try and help because there is a bad gene in our family and people need help. To take offense at this offered advice shows some kind of idiocy.
I APPRECIATE YOU ERIC YOU DID NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE THERAPY I JUST FINISHED MY SESSION ON LINE .IT HELPS A LOT DEPRESSION IS NO JOKE.ESPECIALLY WITH THE SHIT THATS BEEN GOING ON IN THE WORLD TODAY😊AND IM NOT SHOUTING

Sometimes people don't want to accept help; all you can do is try, but it's up to them to actually get help.

Oh right. So next time someone reaches out for help I should just ignore them. Good idea. Who gives a fuck about helping other people…. Thanks for your inane intervention in what was an honest attempt to help some one whom I thought was seeking help.
November 20, 2025 at 5:42 PM
And sympathetic ones join in. I was wrong. This person was seeking attention not help.
November 20, 2025 at 5:28 PM
It is not rude to advise people in despair or depression to seek help. It is an attempt to support and encourage mental health. To find it offensive is beyond me. I’m sorry I wasted my try trying to help someone. But I won’t cease to encourage people who genuinely need help to seek it.
Telling someone to "get help" (implying psychiatric) in response to a post is considered rude in most circumstances.

That said, without seeing the original, I have no idea if the rudeness is merited or not.

For example, if the post is an anti-trans freakout. I'd think Eric was excessively polite.
