Does my affinity for, and thus knowledge of, weird obscure superheroes and supervillains count? I love learning about obscure characters in general.

Aside from that, there's the enjoyment I get from comparing the lyrics of my country's dubbed versions of cartoon songs with the English originals.

Honestly using Gen AI for backgrounds and textures seems like an obvious method for smaller teams to make bigger and better worlds. Making this some kind of litmus test is asking for 3D games to be more expensive to make, which in turn means more centralization at the likes of EA.

I was about to start bitching about the shop I ordered Silent Hill F from now suddenly telling me they won't havei t in stock till October 18th...

...but then I realize that A) That's way closer to Halloween and B) That gives me some time to earn the cost of it back.

I don't have a perfect solution.

I just know I found some online communities back then that made me feel welcome and valued when the real world actively (& sometimes even violently) opposed the idea of allowing me to feel that way for even a few minutes at a time.

That's gotta be worth something.

This is why I get annoyed when people bray about social media being the Devil itself.

It maybe saved / definitely improved my life.

But it needs work. To downplay the "number go up" mentality. To have spaces that aren't for everyone and are moderated by people without Tech Billionaire daydreams.

I met some of my best friends through online imageboards and YouTube collaborations. One got me my first regular gig as a professional video editor / writer.

Another donated the money I needed to get the display art tablet I still use.

I attended a decade long online friends funeral via streaming.
