Context:
Elder vampire. Helped Jesse, another, younger vampire who was a former monster hunter who ran away from her monster hunter husband (Jason) out of guilt. She had a baby (a thing vampires generally don't do). They left the baby with her husband, and she visited sometimes, until the kid was six, when she had a moment of self loathing and cut contact. No kid should have serial killer Barbie as a mom.
The kid, Steph, was a Dhampir, and had strange abilities, like a symbiote like her mom has, that was a second personality she can split off. And also am addiction to vamp blood. Also she was trans. After Jason put Jesse into torpor and hid her body, Ambrose started grooming Steph (in the nonsexual sense [but also the sexual one]) to replace Jesse as his assassin. Now she's living that life, has a bit of an Electra complex because Daddy won't fuck her.
