that was really the idea! I wanted to find sort of a new direction for it, and the whole 'five years later' thing just made sense. plus, it's theoretically possible for me to do this *again* in another five years - or in two years, or one year. anything's possible! 🤯

He opens his eyes, his heart beating madly in his chest as he looks across the cafeteria. His gaze is drawn to a presence that he can feel so completely, now, almost like it's become part of himself, like a piece he's been missing. He blinks, slowly, as he meets the wide eyes of another boy.

It's Alex Claremont-Diaz.

Henry's breath hitches. Fuck. Oh, fuck.

The new fic is set in the same alternate universe as the original, but Alex and Henry don't meet until five years later. Instead of a high school AU, it's a college AU—and this time, happily-ever-after is more of a challenge. Sometimes, first impressions can be very hard to overcome.

This year, I've rewritten that soulmate concept. It’s not an edited version of the original, but a whole new fic—a reboot, essentially. You know how fanartists sometimes redraw their old fanart in their current style? I wanted to do that, but with fic.

‘If you feel the way I do’ was my first RWRB fic, a soulmate AU where soulmates are connected by a bond that allows them to feel each other's feelings. At the time, I obviously had no idea what a beautiful part of my life RWRB was about to become. I sure have a lot of feelings about that now. ♡
