A big day for families as we launch the North East Child Poverty Action Plan.

Our region has shamefully high levels of child poverty- we have to act!

With a £28.6m investment, we’ll do just that. We’ll expand baby box deliveries, give grants to pregnant mams, increase youth services and such more.

The commitments to improving support for children and young people with mental health problems in the 10YP plan and PM’s speech are welcome. The focus on early intervention is long overdue. The Govt must now invest in and reform children's mental health support.
