Today, I would like to present a deep dive into feminist history that got away from me.

Like, really got away from me.

It is about the futility of a politics of appeasement. It is about the unburial of a neglected feminist history. But most of all, it's about lesbian feminism, and sins unforgiven.

One particularly damning quote:

“Indeed, misandry, as I see it, can never reliably be prevented from collapsing into transphobia.”

How do these people not understand the transphobia of their own insistence that trans women and cis men have the same interests?
This essay also touches on something I’ve found especially painful: the hostility of some queer and psychoanalytic thinkers toward lesbian and radical feminist intellectuals—and the defensive, misogynist rejection of feminist idealism that motivates it. taliabhattwrites.substack.com/p/political-...

A manufacturer-installed speed limiter would not restrict speeds to below the speed limit. This is a preposterous objection.

The move would mark one of the admin's first attempts to revoke the visas of people they deem to be engaging in the “censorship” of Americans.

people who cannot conceptualize the basic ways transmisogyny constantly affects trans women & tfems as a misogyny on a structural level and interpersonal level simply aren't worth listening to in 2025 on any topics about gender, imo, particularly when the omission or obfuscation is intentional

Holy shit - Gavin Newsom has clarified that this goes even further.

California is basically instituting a sports ban.

Men will use "majored in Gender Studies" as an insult and then talk about all the redpill/evopsych content they consume.

Like, brother, I hate to break it to you, but you're way more into Gender Studies than whatever imaginary blue-haired Oberlin sophomore you're mad at

This isn’t just an op-ed either, it’s the editorial board of one of the most important legacy papers in the country. They are absolutely trying to launder transphobia as a respectable centrist opinion turned elite consensus, as happened in the UK.

Content Warning: Frank discussions of rape and victim blaming.

The MRA cartoon from earlier made me want to broach the uncomfortable topic of (cis) men who are raped, or rather, the belief that (cis) men CAN'T be raped. Even some legal regimes--such as the UK's--enshrine this maxim into law.

New mothers often experience such extreme isolation and sleep deprivation for months and years on end, they can develop psychosis. But that’s not a crisis. We just shove it under the postpartum depression umbrella and treat it like a minor obstacle to overcome.
Workplace discrimination and harassment, sexual assault, and domestic violence - these very often leave victims desperately lonely but this loneliness somehow never merits discussion as a "crisis"

No one said that cis men don't have any problems. What was said was that cis men don't have problems that arise from being cis men and that the demand that we refocus political energy on them is part of an anti-feminist backlash across the political spectrum
