Holocaust Memorial Day has been marked across Devon. This year's theme was Bridging Generations. At @exetercathedral.bsky.social civic, religious and community leaders, school children and others took part in a candle lighting ceremony to remember victims of the Holocaust.

This edition of the Torah, also known as the Pentateuch, was printed by E. Toledano in Lisbon in 1491. We are honoured to be looking after one of the most beautiful Hebrew printed books of the 15th century.

✭ Tuesday 16 December - Exeter Cathedral will be open to sightseers at the later time of 1pm due to a service taking place.

✭ Wednesday 17 December - The Treasures Exhibition closed for maintenance, and the East End of the Cathedral will be closed from 1pm while a service takes place.

Ellie, our Archivist, recently gave us a preview of this ‘famous scrapbook’ of Mr Hart – Head Virger here at Exeter Cathedral in the 1930s-50s. It features lots of cartoons given to Mr Hart by his friend, the journalist and cartoonist, Harold Murray! ✍️

Last week, we received an unexpected message from Exmouth artist, Melanie: “I spent many happy hours drawing your magnificent Cathedral. It has been framed. Would you like this as a gift?” On Wednesday, we met Melanie and photographed her presenting her beautiful drawing to the Dean!
