Guys, my onions have started to sprout! I planted these 9 days ago. So, I can officially say the 2026 garden has been started.

In other news, it's a miserably cold, windy, and snowy evening, so I'm going to spend it in the best way: bundled up with a blanket and a book.

As much work as it is to dust my books and shelves regularly, it was oddly relaxing to do it today.

Getting off to a bit of a slow start on this chilly morning. I made sure to walk the dog at the usual time despite not feeling like it. Now I'm simply easing back into my regular routine.

Well, I didn't expect to take a week-long break from social media, but it happened. But I'm back now.

Cheeseburger casserole for dinner tonight really hit the spot. Filling, delicious, and made enough for us to have leftovers tomorrow.

Highly recommend this book - it was one of my favorite reads of 2025. If you haven't picked it up yet now is a good time as it's now available in all formats.
My novel, Lord of Blackthorne, is available in physical book form, e-book and audio book. Amazingly we have almost 95 reviews on amazon. I wonder if we can get that over 100 soon? As a reminder if you enjoy any book, leaving a review is appreciated by both authors and by fellow book enthusiasts.

⛴️ The Ferryman is a fascinating sci-fi novel with some great ideas, a great atmosphere and protagonists that do just enough to stay out of the way.

Today is dedicated to blog work. I've already worked on two post drafts, cleaning them up, and now they are almost ready to be scheduled. I also need to work on reducing the number of open browser tabs because my browser is bogged down by the sheer number I have open right now.

Hubby and I spent the last 2 hours outside working on setting up new raised beds. The craziest part is we were in t-shirts, in February, in Canada!

I also officially started the garden by planting onion and pepper seeds in seed trays.

Chocolate chip muffins fresh from the oven make for a great late lunch.

For tonight's family movie night, we watched Strange Brew. Very Canadian, quite weird, but oddly entertaining.

Today's library pick-ups. I always enjoy a David Attenborough documentary. As for the book, learning more about Maple Syrup seems like a good Canadian thing to do. #libraryhaul

Oh, that's not fun. I was working on scheduling some reviews, and one of them is now blank. I know I not only had a full review written but also saved the draft multiple times during the process, but now there's nothing there. I guess I'll be rewriting that review later today.

Busy morning, but that's typical for Fridays. Got groceries, walked the dog, mixed up a batch of bread dough, and started some laundry.
