Corporate philanthropy is the smiley face of capital. Remember it’s the flip side of the same coin and exists by and for capital. Philanthropy isn’t altruistic an it certainly doesn’t represent structural reform.

To put all of this more concisely: *why* is it more important to a lower middle class person living in a middle American town to save multi-billionaires a few hundred thousand dollars in taxes than to assure that people (LIKE THEMSELVES) have enough food to eat. Seriously what’s the logic there?

This is an interesting article. It details the backgrounds of some of Mamdani’s inner circle. It’s worth reading and we should know who’s calling the policy shots and crafting the messages. Problem: articles like this do raise questions about intent and audience.
