This should be noted in any future discussions about the #BBC, and, shared as widely as possibly in any case.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

When I was at school in the early 80s lots of kids were routinely and regularly antisemitic to me. Saying Hitler was right, pushing my face into gas taps in science lessons, pelting me with pennies. It was relentless and teachers often laughed with them.

There was always one leading it. A Farage.

Lovely evening of films at #ukjewishfilmfestival including a surprise appearance of Anton Lesser (yes! Him!!!) for a Q&A about his appearance in this very touching short.

TW Irony.
Hateful? No, just divisive. Actually, just a bit contentious. You know what, it's only woke folk who object. Stop making a fuss, what's YOUR problem?Swastikas? They are everywhere!

Nothing to see here. Just the USA descending deeper into despotism.

U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

The Guardian quotes @jprdata.bsky.social calling the Green vote “paradoxical” (“for a significant minority of Jews, domestic priorities and progressive values outweigh foreign policy concerns”) BUT in fact it seems much of the Jewish Green vote comes from the growing minority who are not Zionist…

This Israeli dating ad uses two kids to make a joke out of rejecting a Yemenite boy. He shares his heritage, she shuts down instantly. It only works because #Racism between Jews is normalised. The ad was pulled, but the mindset runs deep. We need to confront it – to repair. #jewsky

I partially agree with this.
A wealth tax is not enough.
Reform of property laws, yes.
But really we need real Regulation, especially on the City and Tech, and a new narrative to replace the 'Growth Agenda' to something more like Donut Economics

Nearly 20% of British Jews are turning to the Green Party, mostly younger and happy to identify as non-Zionist.

Unfortunately, the older generation is turning to Reform, seeking clarity and strength, ignoring Racism.

Claudia Mendoza, Chief Executive of @thejlc.org , spoke to me about her Adeni heritage, & the warmth of belonging. But it isn't all challah & hilbah.

I also asked about the failings of leaders to engage with Racism, & the tension between those who are accepted, and those who aren't.

I think this @schoolsweek.bsky.social interview demonstrates how the focus of the curriculum review was subject related and secondary focused. I don't think it actually deals with key issues around young people's engagement and wellbeing within the English system.

The Becky Francis curriculum review is out!

Obviously, it's a mixed bag, but... It's not as small an evolution as I'd feared.

Some good stuff here, but let's see how it'll be resourced and supported to be ready for 2027/8.

To do this right will need serious £££
