If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

over half the time when i answer the phone and say hello there's nothing but dead silence during which either the spam caller just hangs up on me, or it waits ten seconds to play a robot voice. gen z's right, leave them alone.
