TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME: The official Massachusetts SNAP website now warns that Trump is “choosing not to issue November SNAP benefits that help you and many families put food on the table.” It also warns of cuts due to “Congressional Republicans and President Trump” in the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

The seeds are being planted to rig the midterms. It’s becoming more explicit.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

It cannot be stressed enough how important mutual aid networks are about to become. These will be tantamount to replacing the cut benefits in the coming weeks. Reach out within your communities. Build connections, talk to people. Ask how you can help each other. When we build solidarity, we win!

As Toni Morrison said, "the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work." But she also reminded us never to lose our capacity to be shocked.

Allowing these ICE kidnappings to become a common occurrence works to normalize this cruelty. This is how the “first they came” poem happens. No one speaks out or resists until, inevitably, they come for you. It’s up to our communities to look out for themselves when the systems meant to, wont.
