Inspired by Casey's beautiful list, I decided to give the "fifty game recs" challenge a shot as well!

...I'm only doing 10 a day though, because I am mortal and weak. :|

Anyway, check the replies for the fiftiest niftiest games I loved this year (in no particular order)!
Okay, I'll make a thread of 50 indie games which I'll add to over the week, staring with.

1. Carimara

Play as a little goblin creature summoned by a witch to investigate what's haunting her cottage, it's a creepy bite-size mystery akin to the Frog Detective games, and has gorgeous visuals.

So, I'm doing a business podcast for work and I thought, "why not devote some time to a gaming one, too?"

So tomorrow morning, I'll be posting up the first episode of The Great Game Guide, featuring theme music I wrote and your weekly dose of me talking about obscure games!

I just couldn't resist.

My cat Aki is having severe dental and gum problems. We’ve tried treatment before, but it didn't work, and she needs to see a specialist soon. I'm taking commissions to cover her medical bills

In spite of all the everything else, 2025 was a pretty great year for my YouTube channel. I doubled my subscriber count, got over 100,000 views, and most importantly, am very proud of the videos I made.

I started off in January looking at some of Saitek's truly bizarre gamepad hardware:

And finally, Day Five! (#41-50)

Much appreciation to those who checked out the list and shared. I know I'm a little voice in a little space, but if even one of you found a new game in here you want to check out, I'm happy.

Until next time, homies! <3

I'm too under the weather to make it to 2000 followers on this website all by myself, so here's a picture of my copy of Carol Vorderman's Sudoku for the PlayStation Portable.

Surely that should be enough for about 5 to 10 more people to feel secure that following me is Worth It.

I had a great time answering slightly less than 5000 questions, and if you're thinking, "Bob, you should do piece to camera more often. You're extremely handsome and also it'll be easier than finding the perfect B-roll footage when you're rambling on about a game's prehistory," I agree with you!

as always, i focus primarily on older, obscure, and just plain weird games, as big name titles don't need the help.

so, onwards!

Who coined "Metroidvania"? It wasn't @jparish.bsky.social, and he'll be the first to tell you. Besides, there are far more interesting questions, like: How did it spread? Evolve? And what's it got to do with rickrolling?

Watch til the end for a post-credits sting.
