The scapegoating of trans people and immigrants by this administration is deeply shameful and also predictable. But the amount of people who have fallen for this bigotry hook, line and sinker is heartbreaking. Where is the humanity? How can so many embrace this cruelty? I’ll never understand.

Marriage often nullifies the government benefits they need to get by.

THREAD: The FDA has made it difficult to find where medications are made. Today we're changing that with our latest tool.

With Rx Inspector, it’s possible to see your drug’s manufacturing facility and what the FDA found during its inspections.

Here's how you can use it. 1/

Heart attack symptoms for women can be subtle and can include feeling lightheaded or experiencing pain in the jaw, neck, or back, which may be radiating from the chest. More classic symptoms include sudden usually heavy pressure in the middle of the chest or sudden unexpected shortness of breath.

Journalism is critical. It’s doubtful this predator would have ever been charged if it weren’t for the NBC News story. Predators like Campbell do not stop victimizing children until the criminal justice system steps in and stops them.

Glad they’re doing this but wish they would have done it a month or more earlier. Just pathetic that the speaker is so weak that members are governing via discharge petitions.
4 House Republicans have signed the discharge petition for a 3-year extension of health insurance subsidies offered by Democrats. That gives it 218 signatures - and will force a vote probably in January.

"The newspaper industry served as a feeder for our entire news media ecosystem. So when we lose those newspapers, we've lost that journalism. In the early 2000s, we had 40 journalists per 100,000 people. We're now down to 8 journalists per 100,000 people," says @victorpickard.bsky.social.

Seems bad. Seems like Congress should do something. Kids should not be test subjects for large tech companies.
NEW: A report found that a significant number of kids and teens are using AI companions.

More striking: themes of violence — which can include sexual violence — drove more engagement among young users than any other type of content, according to the report.

“Congress approved the federally financed system in the 1970s after TV journalist Geraldo Rivera exposed abuses in a New York institution for people with mental and intellectual disabilities, revelations that ignited a national outcry.”
The Trump administration is trying to slash access to lawyers who defend the rights of Americans with disabilities, advocates say. Most of the lawyers work either for the Department of Justice or for disability rights agencies that Congress set up in every state decades ago.

Sometimes I wonder why Marco Rubio decided to throw away his dignity to join the Trump administration. He knows how dangerous Trump is. He said so when he ran for president a decade ago. Trump’s power is slowly but surely collapsing and I guess I’m wondering if he will stay on for the full term.

Refreshing to see someone directly talk about Trump’s narcissism. What he said about Rob Reiner gets to the very heart of his lack of empathy, which is is key to Trump’s personality. Trump is unfit to lead our country and this Truth social post gets to the heart of why.

When Mister Rogers saw scary things in the news as a kid, his mom told him, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Even if it feels like human empathy is gone from the world, it’s not. Even now, there is hope. Some people hurt, but others help. Someday it can be better.

“Kids are being raised by machines,” says Dr. Mitch Prinstein, co-director at UNC's Winston Center on Technology and Brain Development. He warns that children are more comfortable expressing themselves through tech rather than a human connection. cbsn.ws/4a1KL4k
