How was your Friday? We have a 4-day week at Fèis Rois. Sometimes I work 4-days, sometimes I work my hours over 5 days to fit with childcare. Yesterday, I ate healthy food, journaled & swam in the sea. How do you support employee wellbeing & do you model it yourself? The last part isn’t always easy!

I’m delighted that Fèis Rois has been invited to coordinate the celebrations for ‘Dingwall 800’ next year. This is a significant moment for our community and we want everyone to have the opportunity to be involved. Come and share your thoughts and ideas with us at two drop-in sessions next week. ⬇️
2026 marks the 800th anniversary of Dingwall becoming a Royal Burgh and we're collaborating with local organisations to deliver a year of celebrations to mark this landmark anniversary. Check out the posts below for 2 current opportunities, with LOTS more to come!

We introduced a 4-day week with no loss of earnings for the staff team @feisrois.bsky.social 3.5 years ago. What have we noticed? A happy, healthy team who continue to deliver extensive programmes of work across our communities and in the arts & cultural sector locally, nationally & internationally.

4.3 million children are in poverty

UK govt won’t see progress on child poverty by 2029 even with high economic growth 📢

Our analysis shows under our central scenario only Scotland will see child poverty rates fall by 2029 in part due to social security policies 1/5

Burns is an icon. And so badly behaved. 👀 He seduced Clarinda's maid for goodness sake (when she was delivering a love letter from Clarinda) Anyway, he's pervasive so I've written about him several times. Here's my BBC R4 5-art radio play 👇 www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand... And wee thread /1

An important read for tomorrow morning.👇

“Our extensive report covers the key statistics for venues, what issues we’re facing, and what initiatives and campaigns we’re fighting for to protect live music.

The report will be available online from tomorrow morning.”
We’re at Parliament unveiling our 2024 report on Grassroots Music Venues. We have a lot to unpack on four decades of touring decline, and what actions are being taken to protect a sector worth over £500 million annually, and representing over 30,000 jobs.
