Kinda crazy that your regular posts sit on your PDS (in the UK?), the data is processed and disseminated by US servers and the Stories are being served out of Germany.

Well, it's by far not full-featured yet. but the new functions (Stories) are delivered through my AppView

That's defined by the logic of the App View. My Flashes AppView does it this way :)

not yet. that's coming with one of the next releases. right now they just won't be delivered by the appview

oh now I remember why I wanted to do a phased release...when enabling Stories the first time it pulls data from your repo to sync mutes and blocks...I think the app view may be stressed out rn :)

The review has finished but it seems like Play Store doesn't automatically invite testers. So here is the link for registered testers to join from Android: play.google.com/store/apps/d... or from web: play.google.com/apps/testing...

all coming. This is a Flashes-only feature for now, but I'm encouraging everyone to add them to their apps. I will also add them to @skeetsapp.com and @bluescreen.blue (with opt-out ofc)

If you don’t want Stories at all you can disable the feature app-wide in the settings.

The time has come - we're (soft-) launching „Stories“ on iOS today.
At the top of your timeline you’ll see the stories of the people you follow. We’ll start with photos and a text overlay. Stories will be visible for 24h (we’ll add more options later).

Well, people post something offending. Others need to be able to report it, someone needs to look at it and take it down if it violates the TOSs.
With Bluesky posts Bluesky does that. With Flashes‘ posts someone from Flashes would have to do that.

Unfortunately not yet. Requires moderation -> requires money. There will be somewhat of a solution with the upcoming (optional) Stories feature. But the grand question of moderation will be solved at a later date - most likely with the “Commons moderation” work we’re doing at @eurosky.social

All the money that got donated + additional funds were invested in the development of the Android version which is currently in beta for ~1k users.
