i worked at a pet store in south florida as my first job and was the only latin person in the store, whenever we got a spanish speaking customer, they would direct them to me. and usually it went fine but i remember this one older man looking at me and in english saying “your spanish is awful” lol

actually it's still hispanic heritage month i'll say this shit:

there's no shame in being a "no sabo kid", I'm literally fluent in Spanish and can read, but not write well, in it. iI still get called a "no sabo kid." It is not your fault for not being able to speak a language you were never taught.
