A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

Our lawmakers have a responsibility to do everything in their power to rein in ICE. The abuses won't stop without our collective action. Silence is complicity.

Demand that Massachusetts lawmakers take a stand and pass urgent reforms to rein in ICE.

A reminder that ID checks are basically this for the internet.
A new Florida bill would pave the way for schools to remove any book that mentions sex, from the Brave New World to The Bluest Eye.

Literary, scientific, artistic merit would be stripped from consideration when deciding if a book should be accessible to someone younger than 18.
Florida lawmaker says literary merit doesn’t matter if books mention sex
The big story: The Florida Legislature’s years-long push to add restrictions to school library books hit a bump in 2025, when the Senate rejected a measure to delete consideration of “literary merit” ...

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) would force social media platforms to filter and suppress content that the Trump admin is willing to argue makes kids "depressed" or "anxious."

Videos of ICE murdering people make me pretty depressed and anxious, and I'm a grown ass adult.

See where this is going?

It should be bigger news that masked agents were filmed hours ago removing potentially inculpatory evidence from the ICE shooter's house, clearly lacking evidence tags or chain of custody stickers.

Before we have word on whether he underwent a toxicology screen at the hospital following the killing

If last month’s news is any indicator, we’re betting we can expect a lot more grandstanding from Senators like Dick Durbin & Lindsay Graham concerning a Section 230 repeal in the interest of appearing tough on their Big Tech donors in 2026.

i am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that the supporters of a shitty bill rooted in the same failed logic as abstinence only sex education, who are plainly interested in controlling kids rather than protecting them, are continuing to post on a platform that's actively publishing child abuse material
I reached out to the sponsors of the Take It Down Act and the Kids Online Safety Act, all of whom maintain a daily active presence on X. I noticed that most of them continue to post on X officially despite getting little to no engagement on their posts.

Anyone who has read Copaganda knows that we are in the crucial early moments of virality after an extra-judicial police murder. It's extremely important for ICE that the media plays along with the idea that what happened is contested and there are multiple perspectives.

Local officials should act now and put a stop to ICE surveillance by cancelling contracts with vendors like Flock and banning the use of facial recognition and other forms of biometric surveillance either through executive action or city ordinance.
404 Media has obtained material that explains how two surveillance systems ICE recently purchased, work. One can track phones without a warrant and follow their owners home or to their employer. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

Hello Tim Cook I worked at Tumblr when you gave us 48 hours to get rid of all the consenting, adult boobs. Up all night at your whim, out of the blue. But you're still cool with Twitter and its CSAM and revenge porn and whatever the fuck this is? Why do you even HAVE guidelines?
Previously, several of these companies, like Apple, IBM, and Disney, have paused advertising on X in response to antisemitic content. But antisemitism on X never slowed, sexual abuse imagery increased, and all of these companies quietly resumed advertising anyways.

Do not accept the idea that local officials can't do anything because the FBI "cut them out."

They should run their own investigation. If the Feds try to stop them they should force them to arrest cops and DAs. The mayor should go on TV demanding the release of his officers.

No business as usual.

yep, spotify sucks, no longer paying out any artist with less than 1000 active listeners a month; if you love very niche, indie music, then find other options for that reason alone:
It's really an "anyone but Spotify" situation. Looking back on 2025, we can see everyone whose paid me royalties this year & the rates thereof (Tidal wins, but Amazon, Youtube & Apple aren't bad,) and looking back on my history with Spotify by year, we see exactly when their payout rules changed:

Names aren't classified, publishing a government higher-up's name is not "doxxing," and journalists are entitled to publish news, even if it is classified, as long as they don't break the law to get it.

It's not the press's job to keep the government's secrets.
