The core starting point for understanding the 2024 election: the country moved heavily toward Trump *except* where voters heard the most from Kamala Harris.

The Harris campaign was incredibly effective, but she still lost. If we want to do better, we have to look outside campaign operations.
Why Kamala Lost
Campaigns work, but they only work on the margins

God bless the people of Minneapolis, who are showing more courage and patriotism in the face of state violence than the fascists shooting at them could ever know. We should all show the same guts when our own turn comes around.

The good people of Minnesota are being occupied by federal jackbooted thugs, in exactly the kind of Jade Helm way that conspiracists have long feared.

It is CRITICAL that Americans continue to see this for exactly what it is: The good people of Minnesota being occupied by federal jackbooted thugs.

The idea is not that you can control Trump's behavior. The idea is that, when he lashes out erratically, everyone can see he is lashing out erratically.

RN, people are overwhelmingly w/ us & against Trump on this. But there are ways that could change. Most of them involve violence against ICE thugs

They expect - they NEED - the people they threaten to fall in line, like the law firms and universities and media companies and billionaires and Congress did. If you say โ€œNo, make me,โ€ they simply do not have a Plan B. TRUMP DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH GUYS TO MAKE YOU.

He threw his camera at another photographer to prevent it from being confiscated.

The people of Minneapolis are the heroes of this story, because they're subject to tyranny right now. And they collectively have a powerful megaphone to the rest of the country. The country is listening, and right now, they're hearing things about the Commander in Chief that they don't like.

A lot of folks are acting like people on the ground have control over whether the mad king and his viziers invoke the insurrection act. They don't.

What the people on the ground in Minneapolis have control over is whether Americans continue to correctly perceive them as the heroes of this story.

Bizzare that people conflate this attitude (how we should all approach this unamerican regime at all times) and the idea of taking up arms (something counterproductive which we absolutely should not do).

These bastards are, at their core, impotent on a national scale and they're falling apart.

Don't do it if you can think of a downside. Is it going to hurt somebody?

Otherwise, why not?

Note that nonviolent does NOT mean peaceful. Provoking jackbooted federal thugs is completely legitimate, especially if you're doing it to protect your neighbors.
Nonviolence is very obviously the path through this. Normies must see very clearly who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.

It does not take very many mutually-violent clashes to muddy the waters, given the right-wing propaganda machine in this country.

Zoom out and pretend you're an idiot watching. That's who this drama is for, and the gap between the good side and the bad side has to be an enormous gulf for them not to get confused.
January 17, 2026 at 12:22 AM
Yes, it dramatizes who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. And as this flailing continues to fail, the bad guy also looks weaker and weaker.
Though, to the extent that this is a struggle for the hearts and minds of Normie America, it may still have been the right play?
