The Christopher Commission report in 1991 found that a large part of excessive force by cops was committed by a few officers, and disciplining these officers would reduce brutality.

A study in 2019 found misconduct of a few officers spreads like a contagion.

They did assume Americans were that stupid, that’s why they made the electoral college.

They didn’t account for political leaders being stupid, and Washington had a whole speech about being destructively partisan—he knew it would undermine the whole system.

It’s not a thing that’s unique to autism. A lot of Americans are overindexed toward positivity to the point where any *perception* of negativity is aggressively rejected.

A lot of mainstream American culture (especially with older Americans) is pretending everything is fine.

The only common thread is economic globalization. For the rich it is a zero sum game, as there is only so much you can hoard. But for most folks there is literally enough to go around if we have the wherewithal to move it around.
