Did so well on my last workshop I’m gonna treat myself to a little wipwthursday. It’s possible you’ve seen some fragment of an earlier version before, but I cba to cross reference. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe he'd been right to worry about this coming across as a bribe. He's spent ages trying to predict what Ed's feelings might actually be—but as a consequence every possible version of him is currently living in Stede's head rent-free. The affectionate, the furious, every perfect hue in between.

(Jury's still out on the collective noun for all of them: a mystery of Eds, maybe. A clowder. A fascination. A shiver. )

It's a relief to begin learning what his feelings actually are. All possible Eds are starting to braid together, now, into the true Ed standing guardedly before him. The problem is starting to feel slightly more solvable.

And anyway, that's the most important part—that Ed is here, standing before him.

Above all of those memories was the boy.

Floating trees and feather grass and swirling colors and the boy.

It was a simple world. Safe. Quiet and patient. The boy didn’t avoid him on bad days, just existed with kindness. Kept up with him on good days, as good as days could be back then. If Ed wanted to climb a tree, the boy followed, golden hair bouncing as he shifted from branch to branch. If Ed wanted to wade in the shallow stream, the boy hopped right in, hazel eyes sparkling with joyful mischief. They never spoke, but they never needed to. Ed always knew where to find him, and the boy always knew who Ed was. He watched Ed like Ed was interesting, like a curious mystery to solve, and Ed worried he might actually do it. Figure him out. Find his secrets. He felt too exposed sometimes. He didn’t feel exposed enough.

I made this one early in the renewal campaign days 😆

Multi-panel Ant-Man meme. Ant Man says: "So OFMD got cancelled?" Luis says, "Yeah, but we weren't ready to let it go. So we started harassing Max in their social media posts and called them on the phone. Casey Bloys said the numbers weren't there even though they totally were. Then he called on Gay Twitter to support The Gilded Age and Gay Twitter was like hell nah. We accused Zaslav of insider trading."

Luis continues: "We raised $20k to put a billboard in Times Square. And to fly a plane over Max's headquarters. OFMD got nominated for a GLAAD award and Max said jack shit about it. All this time we're getting the petition up to like 85k signatures. Dad came on Instagram and pitched the show to other streamers. So since then we've been contacting Netflix, Amazon, and Apple TV."

Luis continues: "Astroglide joined the crew and we did a watch-along with them and #LubeAsACrew was trending. We did that twice. Then Max said they were worried about violence in season 2, Dad called bullshit. We started getting a lot of major press coverage for our campaign. Dad posts a picture of a street in NYC and we all freak out. Some drama goes down with Renew As a Crew, idk."

Luis continues: "We do a bunch of watchalongs of related shows and movies. Season 2 airs in the UK and we get Wee John Wondays again. Rhys joins Cameo and makes heartwarming videos that make us cry. Dad's been really quiet so we hope he's in negotiations. And that's been the first 30 days in the gravy basket."
