You express some maladaptive behavior growing up. You are given a label like ODD, BPD, NPD, ASPD. The label carries with it a lifelong stigma and a lot of people will treat you as literally subhuman if they find out you have one of these diagnoses.

Most cruel or awful people don't have any sort of disorder. The progressive stance on empathy as the primary factor that makes you a "good, worthwhile person" is dehumanizing and psychologically destructive toward people with ASPD or NPD and creates self-fulfilling patterns of maladaptive behavior.
