Walking home from work along the highline park. The Hudson River is behind the buildings there. The sunset will be fabulous. I love #NYC
A bike bus!!! Omg I would have LOVED this as a kid. Empowering.

I’ve watched this video 5x. I just noticed the parents(?) cheering from the sideline too. #BikeBus @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social
The best part is seeing what happens when you give children a joyful way to start their day. They show up energized, confident, and connected. This is what happens when streets feel welcoming and movement is part of the morning routine. #BikeBus

Urban centers can be a thriving green paradise. Get involved with your local government. Redesign them to reduce cars and add trees!!

Green creates #green. Business booms. 🌳🌳🌳🌳

Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

For #WorldAIDSday, make it personal, make it about YOU. Do your part to counteract and reverse the #stigma which keeps people hiding in silence, afraid to test and treat.

Would YOU date someone HIV+?

If not, why not? It’s 2025.
Undetectable = untransmissable.

In a pilot study, A.I.was able to accurately predict the type of coda, the whale’s vocal clan and the individual whale with over 90% accuracy.
... it might be possible to use A.I. to find patterns within the vocal data and eventually translate what whales were saying to one another.

A peaceful little waterfall on the trail today. In the summer months the understory is so thick it’s harder to get to.

A peaceful moment. #Hiking #NewYork

Dr. Jane started every lecture with this powerful message: Each of us has the power to create a better future.

We can honour her legacy by "doing our bit" – protecting wildlife, supporting community-led conservation, empowering young leaders, and sharing her message to inspire others.

The #palette of the winter forest in my part of the #Appalachian foothills. Can you spot the evergreen pine trees (and Aspens) out there? 🙂

I hike all year long because one learns so much about the forest following it through the Seasons.

A call to artists and communities under threat: come to #NYC 💙🗽

“Art is not our problem … art is the antidote. It’s how societies push forward, confront injustice, and imagine better futures. When you tell #artists to stay quiet, you’re telling #communities to stay invisible.” - Erik Bottcher
This week, as Chair of the City Council’s Committee on Cultural Affairs, I led an oversight hearing on censorship in the arts. We heard from artists, advocates, and cultural leaders about how recent federal attacks on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs are chilling creative

Finishing the sepia underdrawing, blocking in the color soon. This will be the wildest and most ambitious drawing I’ve ever done.

The composition is insanity. But I can see the end result: just barely. #Artist #Drawing #OldSchool

I love this quiet little spot on the trail today. Not only a double waterfall, a peaceful little pond (with baby trout swimming around) and also—when the light hits just right—ripples reflect the sun on the stone above in hypnotic patterns.

I sit here for a long while. #Hiking #NewYork
