Sadness in the crate on lights out is now play bows and cavorting at late night o'clock.

Maybe I can sneak that one through the lege

APA prefers animals are separated for a week. For me it just ends up being a rotation of cats into one room so I can move the dog. I know that Hope is potty trained because she's been refusing to leave her kennel more than once a day, this week.

Oh, no. I never introduce dogs earlier than a week to ten days. Give them all time to smell each other in shared spaces before anyone gets a visual. And then it's a visual through a barrier.

lol I ordered from Galaxy Cafe with extra veggies in a bowl and the favor runner totally misunderstood and removed the veggies from the dish. So I'm eating an expensive bowl of lentils for dinner. (Favor refunded the order. No harm, smaller amounts of fowl.)

Her fur is so soft. She's just super afraid in the shelter. She told me she wanted to come out, and then she froze, so I carried her to the yard. She's already decompressing some by checking out yak cheese and eating PB off a lickmat.

It only took visiting Hope in her kennel 6-10 times over the last week to get her to tell me she wanted to leave her kennel and be carried to a yard. Once I knew I could carry her consensually, bringing her home for a break was a less daunting challenge. She's 28lbs & newly spayed.
Hope the unbroken, a small spayed female dog available for adoption at Austin Pets Alive in TX. She is very shy.

Ordering dinner and then washing a dozen dogs off me while Hope the Unbroken settles in a crate in my bedroom. She is currently crinkling the yellow duck and burying a bone in her bedding. I had to carry her into the house, she's a very nervous girl.

I don't know. They certainly bandied it about a lot during the hearings.

Mistakes were made.

Do you volunteer in any capacity? If so, what do you do/with whom?

I walk dogs at Austin Pets Alive, which can also mean playing, petting and socializing dogs with people and other dogs, kennel clean up, making sure dogs get their preventative meds every month and talking to people about dogs.

One portable generator can produce as much carbon monoxide (CO) as hundreds of cars. If you own a generator and are getting it ready for the nor’easter this weekend, check and make sure your CO alarms are working too. CO is a deadly gas you can’t see or smell and it can kill in minutes.
One portable generator with an equal sign next to a lot of cars. The text reads: one portable generator can produce as much carbon monoxide as hundreds of mid-size cars. Only use your generator outdoors and 20 feet away from your home.

Pumpkin & Pookie: meow, meow, meow! (transl.: open window!)
Me: it's 40F out. Don't be ridiculous.
Cats, in unison: meow, meow, meow! (Translation: we have the hooman's attention! Open it! OPEN IT!)
Me, opening the damned window
Cats: um, it's cold out there, no thanks.
Happy #Caturday!

It's my favorite time of the year in the Northeast -- crisp air, leaves in every color, and, most importantly, it's finally butternut squash and caramelized onion galette season. It's my every-October-without-fail thing, and I hope you make it yours too.

The lobbying groups supported the legislation.
empowlr.bsky.social
That's what my dad likes to hear.
empowlr.bsky.social
Anyway, here's a law I helped write.
empowlr.bsky.social
I will say that the camp operators had time to negotiate the legislation and the CAMP association did well for them, but it's a bit late now to be stepping up and saying "obtw this is all very expensive". It was always going to be.

It would have been better if the lege had passed SB 2 as well.
empowlr.bsky.social
The last line is incorrect. The enrolled version of SB 1 absolutely includes the section about internet redundancies and there is no flexibility on whether to do that other than to not do it and be noncompliant.
Camp owners took the most issue with a new requirement that would force them to have dual broadband internet connections, one via a fiber optic network and another through a separate provider. This requirement is in HB 1 and not in SB 1the Senate version of the bill, leaving room for flexibility.
