I've seen remarkable things in my years of chasing, but this scene from my first year remains a favorite. Here, the flanking line of a supercell is painted by the setting Sun, while the very clouds you're looking at cast shadows for miles (seen as anticrepuscular rays near the horizon). #photography

After MUCH procrastinating, the 2026 calendar is finally here. I enabled the free preview in case you don't have $20 to spare this year. Will finish the Lefty/Foster Dogs one tomorrow. 🎁
Blue Heron Farm 2026
Spend an entire year with the goofballs at Blue Heron Farm. Sure, it's mostly goats, but you should see what they get up to.

(A) stop feeling pressure to be perfect;
(B) normalize asking questions, because that is normalizing learning;
(C) do not ask AI if your turkey is done; ask a meat thermometer
This is so soulless, I can't stand it. We have BRAINS. We can USE THEM.

We have created a device that shall be integral to your life, to the point where it will be hard to function in society without one; we would prefer these devices to break annually and for you to purchase a new one at full price. If you don't, that's called hoarding. They're a thousand dollars each.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

A man from Maryland is telling Texans how we should do Texas history - including the Alamo.
If history has been ‘hidden’ then people have an excuse for not having seen or heard about it. Dan Patrick is doing everything in his power to conceal the Alamo's real history.

I call bullshit...it's time to remember the true history of the Alamo.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

I've shared on here the weird phenomenon of US people believing that Hitler proposed and built the autobahn and other infrastructure projects. He didn't.🤡

And Hitler trashed the economy by taking businesses away from competent Jewish people, and giving them to incompetent nazi party loyalists.
Yup.🤷🏿‍♂️

Folks on Mastodon got mad at me for pointing out the futility of Biden's infrastructure Bill wins, that came at the expense of losing so much Black voter support that he guaranteed a Trump victory.

Nazis opposed infra projects too, until Hitler came to power, and then claimed them as his.
