Digitally illustrated book cover for Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. All text in the image was handlettered by me. The cover depicts the Green Knight riding his horse into King Arthur’s court, axe aloft, holly in hand. Gawain watches him enter from the right corner. Risograph printed illustration based on Masque of the Red Death by Poe. Black ink on red paper. Prospero kneels before Red Death, his dagger fallen to the floor. Red Death, depicted as a cloak with nothing inside, reaches out to cradle Prospero’s face. Red Death’s mask and Prospero’s crown have fallen to the floor. The frame is inspired by the black clock in the story and gothic architecture. Handlettered blackletter text is quote from original story: “and now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death”. Digital book illustration, “His Evilness’s Milk Run”. A mysterious cloaked figure with armor and a weapon carries a milk jug aloft, striding through a dark grocery store. The only light in the image comes from a single refrigerated section that displays milk. Digitally illustrated character design sheet of my paladin/rogue dnd character! A series of the same figure but in three different clothing layers. She is a masc white woman with red hair, wearing Tudor & Victorian inspired clothing and a rapier. In one hand she flourishes a single coin.

"Sometimes there came a sensation as if a hand was drawn softly along my cheek and neck. Sometimes it was as if warm lips kissed me, and longer and longer and more lovingly as they reached my throat, but there the caress fixed itself"

In honor of Edgar Allan Poe's 176th deathday, here are a few of my recent pieces inspired by Poe's works 🫀
Illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Annabel Lee". Two lovers embrace at the edge of the sea, water splashes around them and the surrounding rocks. A full moon shines over them, and storm clouds loom.
Published in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" 2024 Macmillan illustration by Abigail Larson of a raven perched on a skull with a teal curtain backdrop illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" showing a man restrained as a pendulum blade swings close to him. Rats have swarmed around him, chewing the ropes that hold him down. This illustration is featured in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" for Macmillan Books. Illustration by Abigail Larson for Macmillan's "Edgar Allan Poe Sticker Jigsaw" book. The illustration is a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven". The narrator is at the center of the image looking up at at raven perched above an open doorway. Behind the narrator is a tall window with red curtains, and the ghost of Lenore lurks nearby. A black cat is watching the scene from the lower right corner.

Tomorrow is the big day for Jester & Fjord!

Are you all ready to celebrate the wedding in perfect Mighty Nein style? I’m sure nothing will go wrong at all 😂

A reinterpretation of Leighton’s “Call to Arms”, dedicated to the bride & groom💙✨
#criticalrole #criticalrolefanart @criticalrole.bsky.social
An illustration re-interpreting the painting “Call to Arms” by Leighton. Jester and Fjord are leaving an elegant building after getting married, followed by Caleb, Essek, Beau, Yasha, Caduceus and Veth, as Kingsley stops them on the steps, seemingly telling them about something important and pointing to the side.
He’s asking them to join on a new adventure or maybe fight an incoming danger.
All of the Mighty Nein are dressed in very fancy clothing, Jester has a beautiful white gown with pink embroidery. Every’s face is either shocked or excited.

In the background, we see various buildings, one showing the “Lavish Chateau” sign.
Many NPC, guest characters and easter eggs are hidden in the image.

Me: The Middle-Ages were actually very colorful.
Also me: I only want to paint black and green.

we can only face, front towards enemy 🗡️

#dnd #paladin #rogue #ttrpg #oc #rpg #fantasyart #art #characterdesign
Digital illustration of a tarot card, Two of Swords with my DND character, a paladin/rogue multiclass. In the image, a woman kneels on a grassy field, stabbed through the heart with two different swords. Despite the injury she seems to have little reaction as she clutches the swords, looking past what can be seen in the image. In the distance, the ruins of a tower is visible. Text at the bottom is handlettered. The lyric in post caption is from Front Towards Enemy by Baroness.

spring dogwood, summer oak 🌳
A swallow with a tiny mandolin sings a song for a winter fairy who has been sleeping in the hollow of a tree. The illustration is framed by flowering dogwood branches and the accompanying text reads "Winter wakes to Spring's bright song and finds the world in bloom again.” A pair of fairies descend a path through the forest with giant bluebells hanging overhead. One is dressed in a cape and doublet and the other wears a flowing gown. The illustration is framed by oak leaves and acorns, and the accompanying text reads "On summer nights the fairies don their finery and dance beneath the stars.”
