Among the many transformations spending time in Morocco provoked, included were my ideas of camels/dromedaries. I can understand now why some camels' owners love their camels.

Honestly? My guess is there is no actual 'donation' to pay the MILITARY. They are just saying that to cover up the military is still getting pay checks because They got scared of that many people trained to use weapons who may be pissed off. With Them!

Unpopular position: dislike 'spooky season' very much. Mostly because of loathing horror movies and horror in any genre. Life is filled with sufficient horror as it is.

The exception is Halloween cats -- I do love them!

TIL that the word oud is etymologically related to the Arabic word for wood, of which the oud is made. Wood, oud. Duh. Fes also introduced the world to the mathematical concept of zero via its university, but that’s another story.

Just as racism and slavery drives those who live by slavery mad.

This was widely understood in the run-up to the War of the Rebellion. Henry Adams write essays saying so for the D.C. papers at the time. He also stated that nothing but insanity could get them believing secession was feasible.
