When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

Truly, not trying to be doomer. If anything I think that the hope that arises out of *determination* — the capacity to fight on despite all odds — comes not from painting a falsely reassuring picture of the past and present, but by cultivating qualities that allow us to rise up and fight on.

We have a massive ongoing battle with disinformation, misinformation. AI is going to make discerning truth unimaginably difficult, if not impossible. And legacy media is doing itself no favours.
