Some people bury their exes on a golf course; others get them deported.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
‘Brazil is not her home.’ Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, brought to US as child, detained by ICE. - The Boston Globe
Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

Americans are paying 11% more for electricity than when Trump took office.

His solution? Blame blue states and push coal.

You know what everyone loves heading into winter and the holiday season? The looming—and increasing—threat of having their power shut off. And how is President Donald Trump going to deal with ...

This is a tax.
The new plan makes non-U.S. residents “pay a higher rate to help support the care and maintenance of America’s parks,” the Department of the Interior said.

On @arimelber.bsky.social, @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social reminded us of Oct 18 in the sequence of Trump’s deterioration, and I remembered Trump’s pathetic, tin eared response: an AI video of him in a plane, bombing marchers with fecal slop. Trump did not get it.

The President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place. He believes in weaponizing the federal government against his perceived enemies and does not believe laws apply to him or his Cabinet.

I do genuinely wonder how Lindsey Halligan got herself into all this, how much of it is due to a lot of horrible advice from Trump's circle, her ignorance, her aspirations. We have a good feel for who Bondi is thanks to what she says into a mike, but Halligan? I think there's a story here.

Given the BlueSky habit of raging at news media for not framing a story exactly right (I am not innocent), I want to stop and thank every journalist who’s digging up facts about this unprecedented moment of profound evil in our government. Owners may suck, editors err, but you are golden. Thank you.

Don't you just love it when an account you follow re-skeets TWELVE skeets (s)he was quote-skeeted in? Quote-skeeting the same skeet? TWELVE times, and in quick fashion. That's thin ice behavior, I have to say.

For all non-fans of Hold Steady (I'm one), a cool thread on music criticism. (I used to look forward to CBS Saturday Morning's Saturday Sessions* - - and was disappointed when they'd be on.)

*Exposed me to Lucy Dacus, Middle Kids, Madison Cunningham, many other solid acts.

If you keep in mind one of the greatest lines of rock criticism of all time — "late period Soul Asylum fronted by Charles Nelson Reilly" — maybe you can smile through it
