25 years ago I made the decision that the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre would never take Federal Government funding. I wanted us to be a fearless charity that never compromised on the issues that mattered. Today on Human Rights Day donate if you can:

Maybe the travel rules need review. But politics at Ministerial level puts huge strain on family life, not least for Ministers with young families. We ought recognise that. Assist politicians with young families to give service.

Reddit will comply with but may challenge age restriction law.
This argument that everyone even young people should have unrestricted access to the internet is baffling.

I've just finished reading the judgment in the Lehrmann appeal to the Federal Court and a few points really stuck out - apart from the fact that the appeal judges agreed that Lehrmann's story was an absolute fabrication.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Press gallery in strong "thank fuck we don't have to worry about policy" mode with it's coverage of Wells' travel.

Oh you found a travel thing from 2022? So why didn't you note it when it was first reported? It's not like it was only just announced.
