I've been tapped to write speeches and it is a finely honed skill (which I don't have). Mamdani's was Obama-esque in its vision and ability to uplift listeners.
It figures that Trompe would top himself at being the absolute worst.
Massive cheers to the speechwriter for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and to Mamdani for delivering it.

Beautifully done.
Today marks the 54th election I've voted in since turning 18 in the early 90s.

I always think of a woman I worked with who didn't vote. Why? "I'm not smart enough to vote." She was a single mom to a young girl, and having an affair with the alcoholic boss.

Maybe she was right.
Hell: $1M.

I work in higher ed. Our president is paid under $300k and employees are paid above minimum wage with benefits.

Even the playing field between c-suite and the lowest level employees.
You forgot Kash Patel's use of govt jets for botty calls.
BINGO

It's 💯 the reason why I won't spend my money at Walmart.
Now, with bonus toe beans.
I see your kitty feet and raise you corgi butts.

The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP

You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670

Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem

If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy?

You’re doing their dirty work.
Me, getting right to the point at Lowe's today: "Where do you keep your [enunciates] CAULK?"
It's about time.
The United Nations human rights chief on Friday condemned the Trump administration's military strikes against boats in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean, calling for an investigation.

It truly is a race to see who can go the lowest
Just when I think Pete Hegseth is the worst person in the Trump administration, Kristi Noem says something, and I change my mind, then Pam Bondi says something, then JD Vance says something, then Stephen Miller says something, but then Donald Trump says something. Contest over.
I risked my life night by venturing into the war-ravaged hellscape that is downtown Seatlle. Did you know that you can't turn right on a red anymore? It was brutal waiting for a green when nobody was around. And the parking garage was too bright and clean.

The mayhem was terrifying.

If Prince Andrew used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

If Bill Clinton used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

If Donald Trump used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

That wasn’t so difficult, was it?
My neighbors speak Engliah (and only English) and are as white as snow.

They're assholes. I wish I lived next to someone cool who had an interesting background instead of these dickheads who smoke 24/7 and make macabre window displays of bloody, lynched dolls to threaten & scare children.
I'm my dad's legal guardian after my mom's dementia made her unable to help manage his care. I'm not dumb. But... woof. Figuring out how to navigate Medicare is no easy task.
From the perspective of an American, it's all utter lunacy. Capitalism taken to an extreme has allowed our country to profit off the illnesses of our people and discard those that get too sick.
I lack words to adequately express how horrified I am by what this administration is doing. These murders being done by these out-of-control lunatics is unforgivable. No country will have any reason to trust us for a generation after this.

To the world: I'm sorry.
I'm very torn. My retirement portfolio is the highest it has ever been. I'm actually on track to retire someday.

But... I hate what is happening in our country that is allowing billionaires to enrich themselves and, by extension, me.

I "enjoy" this disconnect between tech titans claiming that AI will have us all eating pastries and working two days a week and the reality of firing people en masse while simultaneously supporting fascists who oppose universal basic income and are actively destroying the social safety net
