They did a somewhat more conventional take on cosmic horror in Bloodborne, and they did it again in Elden Ring but needed a fresh approach, and this is what we got. It's SO creative, genuinely gorgeous on top of monstrous.

Aside from long-time wants such as Paglth'an caster tops for DoWs like they should have been, and using monk gear with multiple weapon types to better sell the martial artist archetype, the biggest deal for me is 100% full body massive tank plate for DoMs.
I love fully armored wizards.

Maybe XG is harder to follow than XBC, or maybe they haven't played it, just know secondhand that Noah & Mio is a callback to Fei & Elly. A callback maybe, but it sounds like it does it's own thing too.

...like it ain't even that complicated, it's just a good tragic but ultimately victorious romance. (I never played XBC3 so I don't know Noah & Mio as well)

Mr. Takahashi and Ms. Tanaka will never know what it is that they did to my teenage brain while I was dating for the 1st time (Xenogears) or right after my first truly awful breakup (Xenosaga) but I love them for it.
