I try to do “spend nothing every day” as much as possible. Discretionary shopping pretty much stopped for me after November, Amazon got cut off before that for bowing to tyranny and whitewashing it via the Wash. Post.

I’m going to buy nothing but absolute necessities and shop used when possible.

So I mitigate risks by using emails that I don’t need to keep secured, card accounts with low limits/little funds on them, and burner phone numbers. It’s not perfect, but I don’t stress and that alone is gold. 😋

Fact is, I’ve recognized online accounts as inherently insecure years ago, and mentally adapted to just expecting any one of them being breached at some point. It’s just the nature of things as long as convenience and “saleability” of data are prioritized over security.

I know this isn’t any real comfort since I’m in a multitude of different digital databases, but having never ever used Discord, not even creating an initial profile on there, it’s strangely comfy knowing this has zero impact on me at all.

Meet the Press has been a mess since the death of Tim Russert. Chuck Todd was a fuckin’ joke, and though I haven’t really watched in a while, it doesn’t sound like Kristen Welker is doing much better. Other than PBS news wire the only other TV news I really watch anymore is certain segments on MSNBC

There’s a difference between going on something like NewsNation or even Fox News versus OANN or RT or some such completely extremist outlet. There’s no reason to go on media that are followed ONLY by the extremists, but if you go on CNN or Fox News, you can still reach/inform some low-info people.

We should stop referring to these errors as “hallucinations“. It’s putting a pretty name on something that’s simply ugly and dangerous - erroneous output due to flaws in either the input data, the algorithms processing of it, or both. AI is still a faulty, flimsy thing not to be trusted.

Exactly! We need to be out there all the time in all sorts of places!

The whole 50501/No Kings approach is fine for what it is, but those big events are happening far too infrequently. I’ll be joining the next one on October 18, but there need to be more protests both before and after that!

Ugh, at this point these posts trying to appeal to GOP electeds alleged ideals are just annoying. If “Moses” Johnson actually respected democracy, he wouldn’t be supporting a tyrant or trying to turn us into a Christian nationalist theocracy. The best thing Johnson could do for democracy is resign.

I have plenty of contempt for those people as well for plunging us back into this nightmare, but the fact is there are now people who voted for Trump in 24 who are regretting their choice. I’m not saying they’re going to vote Dem next time, some of them may, others may just not vote at all.

What I’m talking about are people who, even after living through all of the stupidity of Trump January 6 decided to vote for him again “because egg prices“ or “Kamala is a woman” but are finally now having buyers remorse

Nevertheless, people go jamming down those sidewalks on Scooters and high speeds without any sort of Bell or other alert for people behind them. I’m certain collisions are occurring, especially with all the roaming homeless who are in the area. It’s reckless behavior.

We’re gonna have to agree to disagree. I walk in downtown Berkeley every day and there’s a lot of people who have to walk rather erratic paths on the sidewalk, especially with obstructions like sidewalk cafe seating intermittently getting in the way of the pedestrian path. It’s a minefield.

All I know is these folks on scooters and bikes silently sneaking up on people moseying down the sidewalk are gambling that the person they are whizzing by at traffic speeds won’t suddenly decide to turn or lean their path right when they’re passing. It’s dumb luck that more collisions don’t occur.

It’s this latter group who are turning. They aren’t enjoying the leopards biting their faces or the faces of their immigrant neighbors who they assumed would be safe because they were “one of the good ones”. They still don’t like the left or “woke shit” but they recognize this tyrant is un-American.
