In the early 1930s the SA was roughing people up, creating chaos in neighborhoods, seeking to terrorize with the occasional killing. By the late 1930s it had been supplanted by the SS, which was much better trained.
Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

Hard to say how many showed up for Alex Pretti’s vigil, but easily hundreds if not thousands. After community activists and leaders spoke at the park where they gathered, everyone marched to the site of Pretti’s killing. Streets just filled with people demanding ICE out.

We had such a moving vigil on my corner. Held a long moment of silence, introduced ourselves to each other. I thought we might be standing out there on our own (it wasn’t advertised by anyone as a planned spot) but ended up in a circle with 20 other people who are all doing stuff for community.
